The Montana State University Bobcats proved their mettle on the ice against the University of Wyoming Pokes, securing a solid 4-1 victory at the Haynes Pavilion on February 7, 2026.

Despite having fewer shots on goal (35 to the Pokes’ 55), the Bobcats displayed superior scoring efficiency, with Nicola Roberts (#26) contributing to the scoreboard. Pokes’ Zoey Brown (#2) managed to sneak one past Bobcats’ goalie, Reese Mcconnell, but it was not enough to turn the tide.

Both teams failed to capitalize on their powerplays, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4. However, the Bobcats’ defensive prowess shone through, with goalie Reese Mcconnell making an impressive 54 saves on 55 shots. On the other hand, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash managed 31 saves on 35 shots.

The Bobcats will be looking to carry this momentum into their next game against the University of Utah at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on February 20. With their current form, they are sure to provide a tough challenge for their opponents.
