The Montana State University Bobcats made their home crowd proud with a resounding 4-1 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes on Monday evening. Despite being outshot by the Pokes, the Bobcats demonstrated superior efficiency and defensive prowess in a game that had the Haynes Pavilion buzzing with excitement.

The Pokes fired a barrage of 55 shots at the Bobcats’ net, but the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, put on a masterclass performance, saving 54 of those attempts. On the other side, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash faced 35 shots, saving 31.

While both teams struggled with powerplays, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4, the Bobcats made the most of their opportunities. Nicola Roberts (#26) was among the scorers for the Bobcats, adding to the tally and helping to secure the win.

The lone goal for the Pokes came from Zoey Brown (#2), but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Bobcats’ offensive onslaught.

The Bobcats will look to continue their winning momentum in their next game, a home match against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado. The Bobcats’ fans will no doubt be hoping for another victory to keep the team’s spirits high.
