In an exhilarating game at Haynes Pavilion, the Montana State University Bobcats came out on top against the University of Wyoming Pokes, with a final score of 4-1. The game, which took place on February 7th, 2026, was a showcase of both teams’ determination and skill.
Despite the Pokes taking more shots at goal (55), it was the Bobcats who proved to be more accurate, scoring 4 times from their 35 shots. The Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, had a busy night, making 31 saves. On the other side of the rink, the Bobcats’ Reese McConnell had an outstanding performance, saving 54 shots out of 55.
Powerplay opportunities were a bit of a letdown for both teams, with the Pokes failing to capitalize on their 3 chances and the Bobcats missing out on all 4 of their opportunities.
The Pokes’ only goal came from #2 Zoey Brown, while the Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts also found the back of the net. The other goals for the Bobcats were spread across the team, showing the depth and versatility of their squad.
The Bobcats will be looking to carry this momentum into their next game, a home match against the University of Utah on February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Stay tuned for more updates and let’s continue supporting our Bobcats!
