The Montana State University Bobcats brought their A-game last night, clinching a 4-1 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes in a thrilling showdown at the Haynes Pavilion.
Despite the Pokes dominating the shot count with 55 attempts, compared to the Bobcats’ 35, it was the Bobcats who found the back of the net more often. The Pokes’ powerplay was 0/3, while the Bobcats also struggled with their powerplay finishing 0/4.
The goaltending was a key factor in this contest. Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, faced 35 shots and made 31 saves. On the other side of the ice, Bobcats’ Reese McConnell had a stellar performance, facing a barrage of 55 shots and making an impressive 54 saves.
For the Pokes, #2 Zoey Brown managed to score the lone goal. Meanwhile, Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts also found the back of the net, contributing to the Bobcats’ victory.
