In an exhilarating match on Monday night at the Haynes Pavilion, the Montana State University Bobcats emerged victorious over the University of Wyoming Pokes with a final score of 4-1. Despite the Pokes putting up a strong fight with 55 shots on goal, it was the Bobcats who outscored them with a 35-shot performance.
The Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, had an impressive game, saving 54 out of 55 shots. On the other side of the rink, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash managed to save 31 out of 35 shots.
The game saw Pokes’ #2 Zoey Brown and Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts both scoring a goal for their respective teams. However, the Bobcats managed to pull ahead with a total of 4 goals to secure their win.
Both teams struggled with their powerplays, with the Pokes going 0 for 3 and the Bobcats going 0 for 4. Despite this, the Bobcats were able to maintain their lead and secure their victory.
The Bobcats will be looking to carry this momentum into their next game at home against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado. Stay tuned for more updates and let’s continue supporting our Bobcats!
