The Montana State University Bobcats claimed victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes in an exhilarating match at the Haynes Pavilion on February 7th, 2026. The final score was a decisive 4-1 in favor of the Bobcats, despite the Pokes outshooting them 55 to 35.
The Pokes, despite their numerous attempts, were unable to convert on any of their three powerplays. The Bobcats also struggled with their powerplay, failing to capitalize on any of their four opportunities. However, the Bobcats’ superior defense and goaltending proved to be the difference in the game.
Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, faced 35 shots and made 31 saves, while the Bobcats’ Reese McConnell was a veritable wall, facing a barrage of 55 shots and saving all but one.
The Pokes’ only goal came from #2 Zoey Brown, while the Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts also found the back of the net.
The Bobcats will look to carry this momentum into their next game at home against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado.
