In an exciting hockey game on February 7th, the Montana State University Bobcats emerged victorious with a 4-1 win over the University of Wyoming Pokes at Haynes Pavilion.
Despite being outshot 55-35, the Bobcats displayed superior skill in goal, with goalie Reese McConnell making an impressive 54 saves from the Pokes’ 55 shots. On the other side, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash managed to save 31 out of 35 shots.
Neither team managed to capitalize on their powerplay opportunities, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4. However, the Bobcats pulled ahead with a decisive goal from #26 Nicola Roberts, countering the Pokes’ lone goal by #2 Zoey Brown.
This win is a significant morale booster for the Bobcats as they prepare for their next game at home against the University of Utah on February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team will undoubtedly aim to continue their winning streak and make their fans proud.
