The Montana State University Bobcats showcased their prowess on the ice rink with a commendable victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes in an adrenaline-fueled match on February 7, 2026. The final scoreboard read Pokes 1, Bobcats 4, marking a significant win for the Bobcats at the Haynes Pavilion.
Despite the Pokes taking a whopping 55 shots at the goal, they could only manage to score once, thanks to the extraordinary defensive skills of the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell. McConnell, with a stunning 54 saves out of 55 shots, was undoubtedly the star of the night. On the other hand, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash managed to save 31 out of the 35 shots taken by the Bobcats.
Both teams had their fair share of powerplay opportunities, but none could capitalize on them. The Pokes had three such opportunities, while the Bobcats had four. However, the night was not devoid of some spectacular goals. Pokes’ #2 Zoey Brown and Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts both managed to find the back of the net, adding to the excitement of the game.
The Bobcats are now looking forward to their next game, which will be a home match against the University of Utah. The game is scheduled for Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado. The Bobcats will surely be aiming to carry forward their winning momentum and put up a great show for their home crowd.
