The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging game against the University of Utah Utes, ending with a 5-2 loss at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on February 20, 2026.

Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats could not keep up with the aggressive Utes, who managed to fire off 38 shots against the Bobcats’ 31. The Utes’ offensive pressure was relentless, with standout player #12 Morgan Lavalley scoring two goals.

Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, faced a barrage of shots, managing to save 33 out of 38. On the other side of the ice, Utes’ goalie Miranda De Antunano had a slightly less busy night, saving 29 out of 31 shots.

Powerplay opportunities were scarce in the game. The Utes didn’t have any chances, while the Bobcats had two opportunities but failed to capitalize on both.

The Bobcats’ only shining moment came from #18 Elly Aldrich, who managed to score one goal. However, the team couldn’t rally enough to close the gap.

The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back in their next game at home against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21. They’ll be hoping to turn things around and get back on track. The game will be held at the same venue, CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink.
