In a heated contest this Sunday, the Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats were unable to secure a win, with the final score being Utes 5, Bobcats 2.
The Utes managed to edge the Bobcats in shots, with a total of 38 compared to the Bobcats’ 31. However, the Bobcats displayed a solid defensive effort, with goalie Reese McConnell making 33 saves out of the 38 shots faced. On the other side, Utes goalie Miranda De Antunano also put up a strong performance, saving 29 out of 31 shots.
The game remained scoreless on powerplays, with the Utes having no opportunities and the Bobcats unable to capitalize on their two chances.
The Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, proved to be a formidable opponent, scoring two goals. For the Bobcats, #18, Elly Aldrich, stood out by scoring one goal.
