The Montana State University Bobcats took on the University of Utah Utes on home ice at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on February 20, 2026. Unfortunately, the Bobcats fell short in their efforts, with the final score reading Utes 5, Bobcats 2.

Despite a commendable effort, the Bobcats were outshot by the Utes, with the Utes making 38 shots on goal compared to the Bobcats’ 31. The Bobcats were unable to capitalize on their two powerplay opportunities, while the Utes had no powerplay chances.

In the net, the Utes’ Miranda De Antunano showcased a strong performance, facing 31 shots and making 29 saves. On the Bobcats’ side, Reese McConnell also put up a fight, making 33 saves on the 38 shots he faced.

The star of the night was undoubtedly the Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, who scored two goals. For the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz managed to find the back of the net once.
