The Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink this past Sunday, February 20th. Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats fell to the Utes with a final score of 5-2.

The Utes outshot the Bobcats 38-31, but both teams showcased their defensive prowess with no powerplay goals scored. The Bobcats had two powerplay opportunities but were unable to capitalize on either. The Utes didn’t receive any powerplay chances.

The night belonged to Utes’ goalie Miranda De Antunano who put up a stellar performance, stopping 29 of the 31 shots she faced. On the other end of the ice, Bobcats’ goalie Reese McConnell also had a busy night, making 33 saves on 38 shots.

Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley was the standout player of the match, scoring two of the Utes’ five goals. For the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz found the back of the net once.

The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back in their next game at home against Grand Canyon University. The game is scheduled for Saturday, February 21st at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The Bobcats will be seeking to harness their home advantage and return to winning ways.
