In a thrilling game that took place at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, the Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes. Despite a fierce fight, the Bobcats fell to the Utes with a final score of 5-2.
The Utes came prepared to play, firing off a total of 38 shots, while the Bobcats were not far behind with 31 shots. However, the Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, proved to be a formidable barrier, saving 29 of the 31 shots. On the other hand, Bobcats’ goalie Reese Mcconnell saved 33 of the 38 shots.
Unfortunately, despite the Bobcats having two powerplay opportunities, they were unable to capitalize on either. The Utes, on the other hand, did not have any powerplay opportunities but managed to secure a comfortable lead.
The Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, was a standout player, scoring two goals. From the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz made his mark on the scoreboard, netting one goal.
The Bobcats will have an opportunity to bounce back in their next game at home against Grand Canyon University. The match will take place on Saturday, Feb 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team will undoubtedly be looking to put this loss behind them and come out stronger in their upcoming game.
