The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging match against the University of Utah Utes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, ending with a 5-2 victory for the Utes. The game took place on February 20th, 2026, and despite the Bobcats’ best efforts, the Utes came out on top.
The Utes dominated the game with 38 shots, compared to the Bobcats’ 31. Despite having two powerplay opportunities, the Bobcats were unable to capitalize on them, finishing with a powerplay of 0/2. The Utes, on the other hand, did not have any powerplay opportunities.
The Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, had an impressive performance, saving 29 out of 31 shots. On the Bobcats’ side, Reese Mcconnell also put up a good fight, saving 33 out of 38 shots.
The Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, was a standout player, scoring two goals. For the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz managed to score a goal.
Looking ahead, the Bobcats are set to play at home against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team will be looking to bounce back from this defeat and put on a strong performance in their upcoming game.
