The Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes in a thrilling match on February 20th, 2026, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Despite a spirited effort, the Bobcats fell to the Utes with a final score of 5-2.
The Utes took the lead with 38 shots on goal, compared to the Bobcats’ 31. Both teams had opportunities with the powerplay, but the Utes couldn’t capitalize on any, while the Bobcats managed to utilize two out of their powerplays.
The Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, had a strong game with 29 saves out of 31 shots. Despite the loss, Bobcats’ goalie Reese Mcconnell put on a commendable performance, saving 33 of the 38 shots he faced.
The game saw some standout performances with Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley scoring two goals. The Bobcats’ #22 Rylan Lorentz also made his mark on the scoreboard with one goal.
The Bobcats will be back in action at home against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21st, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team will be looking to bounce back and secure a win in their upcoming match.
