The Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes on February 20th, 2026 at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado. The game concluded with a disappointing 5-2 loss for the Bobcats.
The Utes demonstrated their offensive prowess, taking 38 shots on goal compared to the Bobcats’ 31. Despite the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, making a commendable 33 saves, the Utes managed to slip five pucks past him. On the other end of the ice, Utes’ goalie Miranda De Antunano stopped 29 of the 31 shots she faced.
While the Bobcats had two powerplay opportunities, they were unable to convert either into a goal. The Utes didn’t have any powerplay opportunities throughout the game.
The Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, proved to be a formidable opponent, scoring two of the Utes’ five goals. For the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz showed his mettle by netting one of the two goals for his team.
