The Montana State University Bobcats fell to the University of Utah Utes in a challenging match at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on February 20th. The final score stood at 5-2 in favor of the Utes, despite a spirited performance from the Bobcats.

The Utes dominated the game with a total of 38 shots, five of which found the back of the net. The Bobcats, on the other hand, managed 31 shots, with only two successful attempts. Despite the Utes’ aggressive offense, the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, made an impressive 33 saves out of the 38 shots.

On the powerplay front, the Bobcats had two opportunities but failed to capitalize, while the Utes had no powerplays during the game.

The Utes’ Miranda De Antunano was in fine form, saving 29 out of the 31 shots she faced. The star of the game, however, was the Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, who scored two goals, contributing significantly to her team’s victory.

For the Bobcats, #18 Elly Aldrich managed to score one goal, providing some consolation in a tough game.

The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back in their next game against Grand Canyon University. The match is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Despite the defeat, the Bobcats’ fighting spirit remains undeterred, and they are eager to put on a strong performance in their upcoming game.
