In a fiercely contested match at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, the Montana State University Bobcats fell to the University of Utah Utes with a final score of 5-2. The game, which took place on February 20, 2026, saw both teams fighting tooth and nail for victory.

The Utes came out strong, firing a total of 38 shots against the Bobcats’ 31. Despite the Bobcats’ best efforts, Utes’ goalie Miranda De Antunano managed to save 29 shots, leaving the Bobcats trailing behind. On the other hand, Bobcats’ goaltender Reese McConnell made an impressive 33 saves out of 38 shots.

While the Utes didn’t get a chance at powerplay, the Bobcats had two opportunities but failed to capitalize on either. This could have been a game-changer, but unfortunately, it was not to be.

The star player for the Utes was undoubtedly #12 Morgan Lavalley, who scored an impressive two goals. For the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz managed to find the back of the net once, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide in their favor.

The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back in their next game, a home fixture against Grand Canyon University on February 21st. They’ll be hoping to turn their fortunes around at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Stay tuned for what promises to be an exciting match!
