The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging game against the University of Utah Utes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on February 20th, 2026. The final score was 5-2 in favor of the Utes, despite a valiant effort from the Bobcats.
The Utes dominated the game with a total of 38 shots on goal, compared to the Bobcats’ 31. However, the Bobcats displayed a strong defense with their goalie, Reese McConnell, saving 33 of the Utes’ shots. On the other hand, the Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, had a slightly easier night, saving 29 of the 31 shots from the Bobcats.
Despite the Bobcats having two power plays, they were unable to capitalize on these opportunities. The Utes, on the other hand, did not have any power plays throughout the game.
The standout player of the match was the Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, who scored two goals. For the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz managed to score one goal.
