The Montana State University Bobcats faced a tough loss against the University of Utah Utes last night at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The final score was Utes 5, Bobcats 2, despite a hard-fought battle from our home team.
The Utes outshot the Bobcats, with 38 shots compared to our 31. Our goalie, Reese Mcconnell, had a busy night, making 33 saves out of the 38 shots. On the other side, Utes’ goalie Miranda De Antunano stopped 29 out of 31 shots from the Bobcats.
Despite having two powerplay opportunities, the Bobcats were unable to capitalize and the Utes did not have any powerplay chances.
Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley was a thorn in the Bobcats’ side, scoring two goals. For the Bobcats, #18 Elly Aldrich managed to find the back of the net once.
The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back in their next game, a home match against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, Feb 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. We’re hoping for a strong showing from our team and a chance to get back on the winning track.
