In a thrilling and intense game of hockey, the Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes, unfortunately falling short with a final score of 5-2. The game took place on February 20, 2026, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats put up a valiant effort, managing to fire off 31 shots against the Utes’ 38. The powerplay opportunities for the Bobcats were also more than the Utes, with the Bobcats getting 2 chances to the Utes’ none. However, the Bobcats were unable to convert these opportunities into goals.
The goaltending was a highlight of the game, with the Bobcats’ Reese Mcconnell making an impressive 33 saves off 38 shots. On the other end of the ice, the Utes’ Miranda De Antunano managed to stop 29 out of 31 shots.
The Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley stood out with 2 goals, while the Bobcats’ #22 Rylan Lorentz managed to put one in the net.
