The Montana State University Bobcats faced a tough loss last night against the University of Utah Utes, with a final score of 5-2. The game, held at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, saw an impressive display of skill and determination from both teams.
The Utes took the lead early and maintained their advantage throughout the game, with a total of 38 shots on goal. The Bobcats made a valiant effort, delivering 31 shots on goal, but ultimately couldn’t bridge the gap.
In terms of the powerplay, the Bobcats had two opportunities but were unable to capitalize on either. The Utes did not have any powerplay opportunities.
Goalkeeping was a key factor in this game. The Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, made a strong showing with 29 saves on 31 shots. On the Bobcats’ side, Reese McConnell put up a valiant fight, saving 33 out of 38 shots.
A standout player in the game was Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, who managed to score two goals. For the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz was able to net one goal.
