Despite a valiant effort from the Montana State University Bobcats, the team fell to the University of Utah Utes 5-2 in a game held on February 20, 2026, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado.
The Utes managed to secure the victory with 38 shots on goal, five of which found their mark. The Bobcats, on the other hand, fired 31 shots, only two of which managed to beat the Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano. De Antunano had an impressive game, making 29 saves on 31 shots.
On the Bobcats’ side, goalie Reese McConnell also put up a strong performance, making 33 saves on the 38 shots he faced. Despite the loss, McConnell’s performance was commendable and showcased his skills in the net.
The Bobcats had two powerplay opportunities but were unable to convert on either. The Utes did not have any powerplay opportunities during the game.
Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley was the standout player of the match, scoring two goals. For the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz managed to find the back of the net once.
