The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging opponent in the University of Utah Utes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on February 20th. Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats fell to the Utes with a final score of 5-2.

The Utes took control of the game early, outshooting the Bobcats 38 to 31. Despite the Bobcats’ strong defensive efforts, the Utes managed to find the back of the net five times. The Bobcats, on the other hand, were able to capitalize on two scoring opportunities.

The Bobcats’ powerplay unit had a couple of chances but was unable to convert on either of their two opportunities. The Utes did not have any powerplay opportunities during the game.

In the goaltending department, the Utes’ Miranda De Antunano made 29 saves on 31 shots, while Bobcats’ Reese McConnell faced a barrage of 38 shots, making 33 saves.

The Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley was a standout player in the game, scoring two goals. On the Bobcats’ side, #22 Rylan Lorentz managed to find the back of the net once.

The Bobcats will look to bounce back in their next game at home against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21st, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team will continue to work on their powerplay and defensive strategies in preparation for the upcoming game.
