The Montana State University Bobcats suffered a tough loss last night, falling 5-2 to the University of Utah Utes. Despite a strong effort, the Bobcats couldn’t overcome the Utes’ relentless offense.

The game took place at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, with the Utes taking 38 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 31. Despite the disparity in shots, both teams had chances to capitalize on powerplays, with the Bobcats getting two opportunities but failing to convert either.

The Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, had a fantastic game, fending off 29 of the 31 shots she faced. On the other side of the ice, the Bobcats’ Reese McConnell put up a valiant effort, saving 33 of the 38 shots taken by the Utes.

The Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, was the star of the show, scoring two crucial goals. For the Bobcats, #18 Elly Aldrich managed to find the back of the net once.

Despite the loss, the Bobcats are looking forward to their next game. They’ll be back on home ice against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team is eager to bounce back and get back to their winning ways.
