The Montana State University Bobcats faced a tough loss against the University of Utah Utes last night at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The final score was a disappointing 5-2 in favor of the Utes.
The Utes came out strong, firing a total of 38 shots at the Bobcats’ net, while the Bobcats managed to get 31 shots on goal. Despite the Bobcats’ best efforts, the Utes’ offensive pressure proved too much to handle.
Both teams had opportunities on the powerplay, yet only the Bobcats managed to secure a couple of chances. Unfortunately, they were unable to capitalize on these opportunities, ending the game with a powerplay record of 0/2.
In the net, the Utes’ goalkeeper, Miranda De Antunano, put on an impressive performance, saving 29 out of 31 shots. On the other side of the ice, Bobcats’ Reese McConnell also put up a valiant fight, saving 33 out of 38 shots.
The game saw some individual brilliance with Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley scoring two goals. For the Bobcats, #18 Elly Aldrich managed to find the back of the net once.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats are looking forward to their next game. They will be facing Grand Canyon University at home on Saturday, Feb 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team is eager to bounce back and give their fans a game to remember.
