The Montana State University Bobcats suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of the Grand Canyon University Antelopes on Sunday, February 21st. The final score was a disappointing 7-1 in favor of the Antelopes. The game was played at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado.

The Antelopes dominated the game from the start, outshooting the Bobcats 64 to 19. The Antelopes’ powerplay was also more effective, scoring once in three attempts, while the Bobcats failed to convert any of their two powerplays.

Goalkeeper Annika Olson was the stalwart for the Antelopes, facing 19 shots and saving 18. In contrast, Bobcats’ goalie Emma Carlson had a busy night, facing a barrage of 64 shots and managing to save 57.

The star of the game was undoubtedly Antelopes’ #12 Jennae Szucs, who netted an impressive hat-trick. For the Bobcats, #20 Marin Snyder managed to get on the scoresheet with a single goal.

Despite the loss, the Bobcats will look to regroup and come back stronger in their next game. The team’s spirit remains unbroken, and they are determined to learn from this experience.
