The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging game against the Grand Canyon University Antelopes on February 21, 2026, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The Antelopes dominated the ice with a final score of 7-1, leaving the Bobcats to regroup and strategize for their next match.
The Antelopes came out strong, firing off a staggering 64 shots against the Bobcats’ 19. The Bobcats’ goalie, Emma Carlson, was under constant pressure, managing to make 57 saves out of the 64 shots. On the other hand, Antelopes’ goalie Annika Olson had a relatively lighter workload, saving 18 of the 19 shots fired by the Bobcats.
Despite the Bobcats’ best efforts, they were unable to capitalize on their two powerplay opportunities, while the Antelopes managed to convert one of their three chances. The disparity in powerplay performance further emphasized the Antelopes’ control of the game.
The star of the match was undoubtedly the Antelopes’ #12, Jennae Szucs, who managed to score a hat trick. Despite the tough game, Bobcats’ #20, Marin Snyder, managed to find the back of the net, scoring the lone goal for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats will need to regroup after this tough loss and come back stronger in their next game. They will need to tighten their defense and create more scoring opportunities to bounce back from this defeat.
