It was a challenging night for the Montana State University Bobcats as they faced off against the Grand Canyon University Antelopes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The Antelopes charged ahead to a decisive 7-1 victory over our Bobcats.
The Antelopes dominated the game right from the start, putting up an impressive 64 shots against the Bobcats’ 19. Their powerplay was also more effective, as they managed to score on one of their three opportunities, while the Bobcats couldn’t convert on either of their two powerplays.
Antelopes’ goalie, Annika Olson, had a stellar performance, saving 18 out of the 19 shots she faced. On the other side, Bobcats’ Emma Carlson had a tough night, but still managed to save 57 out of the 64 shots she faced.
The star of the game was undoubtedly the Antelopes’ #12, Jennae Szucs, who netted a hat trick. On the Bobcats’ side, #20 Marin Snyder managed to put one past Olson, scoring the lone goal for the team.
Despite the defeat, the Bobcats demonstrated their fighting spirit and will undoubtedly come back stronger in their next game. Stay tuned for more updates on our beloved Bobcats.
