The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging night on the ice against the Grand Canyon University Antelopes. The final score was a disappointing 7-1 loss for the Bobcats at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink.
The Antelopes dominated the game from the start, taking a total of 64 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 19. The Bobcats struggled to find their footing and couldn’t capitalize on their powerplay opportunities, going 0 for 2. The Antelopes, on the other hand, were able to convert one of their three powerplays into a goal.
Bobcats’ goalie Emma Carlson was kept busy throughout the game, facing a barrage of 64 shots and making 57 saves. On the other side of the rink, Antelopes’ goalie Annika Olson had a relatively quieter night, saving 18 out of 19 shots.
The star of the game was undoubtedly Antelopes’ #12 Jennae Szucs, who scored a hat-trick. For the Bobcats, #20 Marin Snyder managed to put one in the net, scoring the only goal for her team.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats showed resilience and will be looking to bounce back in their next game.
