The Montana State University Bobcats faced a tough loss at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink last night. The Grand Canyon University Antelopes dominated the game, ending with a convincing 7-1 victory over the Bobcats.
The Antelopes came out strong, putting up a staggering 64 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 19. The Bobcats’ defense struggled to keep up with the Antelopes’ relentless offensive effort. The Antelopes capitalized on their powerplay opportunity, scoring once in three attempts, while the Bobcats failed to convert on either of their two powerplays.
In the net, Antelope’s goalie Annika Olson made 18 saves out of 19 shots, proving to be a formidable last line of defense. On the other end, Bobcat’s Emma Carlson faced a barrage of shots, making 57 saves on 64 attempts.
The star of the game was undoubtedly Antelopes’ #12 Jennae Szucs, who netted a hat trick. The Bobcats’ only goal came from #20 Marin Snyder.
Despite the heavy loss, the Bobcats will look to regroup and come back stronger in their next outing. With more games ahead, they have ample opportunity to turn their fortunes around.
