The Montana State University Bobcats showed their prowess on the ice last night, clinching a 4-1 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes at Haynes Pavilion. Despite the Pokes having a higher shot count at 55 against the Bobcats’ 35, the Bobcats demonstrated superior accuracy and defensive skills.
Goalie Reese McConnell was a standout for the Bobcats, facing 55 shots and saving an impressive 54. On the other side of the rink, Pudgie Sabinash of the Pokes managed 31 saves out of 35 shots.
The powerplays for both teams proved ineffective, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4.
Scoring for the Pokes was #2 Zoey Brown, who managed to slip one past McConnell. On the Bobcats’ side, #26 Nicola Roberts added a goal to the tally, contributing to the Bobcats’ decisive win.
The Bobcats are set to carry this momentum into their next game against the University of Utah. The match is set to take place on Friday, February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see if the Bobcats can maintain their winning streak.
