It was a challenging evening for the Montana State University Bobcats as they faced off against the Grand Canyon University Antelopes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The final score was a disappointing 7-1 in favor of the Antelopes.
The Antelopes dominated the game from the start, taking a total of 64 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 19. The Bobcats struggled to hold their ground, with their powerplay failing to convert on both attempts, while the Antelopes managed to score on one of their three powerplays.
In the goalie match-up, the Antelopes’ Annika Olson had a stellar game, facing 19 shots and making 18 saves. The Bobcats’ Emma Carlson, on the other hand, had a tough night, making 57 saves on 64 shots.
The star of the night was undoubtedly the Antelopes’ #12, Jennae Szucs, who scored an impressive hat trick. The Bobcats’ lone goal came from #20, Marin Snyder.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats showed resilience and determination throughout the match. They will undoubtedly use this experience to come back stronger in their next game.
