The Montana State University Bobcats showed their claws in a thrilling game against the University of Wyoming Pokes, ending with a convincing 4-1 victory on home ice at Haynes Pavilion.
Despite the Pokes firing off a staggering 55 shots, Bobcats goalie Reese McConnell was a brick wall, saving 54 of these attempts. On the other side of the rink, Pokes goalie Pudgie Sabinash faced 35 shots, managing to save 31.
The Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts and the Pokes’ #2 Zoey Brown both managed to find the back of the net, contributing to the final scoreline.
Powerplay opportunities were plentiful but proved fruitless for both teams, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4.
The Bobcats look to carry this momentum into their next game at home against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20, at CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink (CO). With this victory under their belt, the Bobcats are sure to put up a fierce fight.
