The Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the Grand Canyon University Antelopes in a challenging game at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The final score of the game was a disappointing 7-1 defeat for the Bobcats.
Despite the Bobcats’ best efforts, they were outshot significantly by the Antelopes, with the latter racking up an impressive 64 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 19. The Antelopes’ powerplay was more efficient as well, scoring on 1 of their 3 opportunities, while the Bobcats were unable to convert on either of their 2 powerplay chances.
In the net, the Antelopes’ goalie, Annika Olson, had a strong performance, saving 18 of the 19 shots she faced. On the other end of the ice, Bobcats’ goalie Emma Carlson faced a barrage of shots, making 57 saves on 64 shots.
The star of the game was undoubtedly the Antelopes’ #12, Jennae Szucs, who scored a hat trick. The lone goal for the Bobcats came from #20 Marin Snyder.
