In a thrilling clash at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, the Montana State University Bobcats fell to the University of Utah Utes in a 5-2 defeat. Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats couldn’t match the Utes’ intensity on the ice, resulting in a loss that will surely fuel their determination in their upcoming games.
The Utes had a total of 38 shots, while the Bobcats managed 31. The Bobcats’ powerplay was 0/2, showing room for improvement in their offensive play. On the other hand, the Utes didn’t have any powerplay opportunities throughout the game.
In the goal for the Bobcats was Reese Mcconnell, who made 33 saves out of 38 shots. Despite the loss, Mcconnell’s performance was commendable. The Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, was also on top of her game, making 29 saves out of 31 shots.
The Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, was the star of the evening, scoring 2 goals and leading her team to victory. On the Bobcats’ side, #18 Elly Aldrich managed to score a goal, keeping the team’s spirits high despite the tough game.
