In a highly anticipated game, the Montana State University Bobcats fell short against the University of Utah Utes, with a final score of 5-2 on Feb 20, 2026. The match took place at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado, where the Utes outshot the Bobcats by a margin of 38 to 31.

Despite the Bobcats having two powerplay opportunities, they were unable to capitalize on either. The Utes, on the other hand, did not have any powerplay chances but managed to score five goals nonetheless.

The Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, had a solid game, saving 29 out of 31 shots. On the Bobcats’ end, Reese McConnell faced a barrage of 38 shots, managing to save 33.

Highlighting the game was Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley, who scored two goals. For the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz managed to find the back of the net once.

The Bobcats will look to bounce back in their next game at home against Grand Canyon University on Feb 21, once again at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team will be hoping for a stronger performance and a chance to redeem themselves.
