In a challenging game at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, the Montana State University Bobcats faced a formidable opponent in the Grand Canyon University Antelopes. The final score was a disappointing 7-1 in favor of the Antelopes.
The Bobcats struggled to keep up with the Antelopes’ aggressive offense, as the Antelopes took 64 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 19. The Antelopes’ power play was effective, scoring once out of three opportunities, while the Bobcats failed to capitalize on their two power play chances.
In the net, the Antelopes’ goalie Annika Olson had a solid performance, making 18 saves out of 19 shots. On the other hand, Bobcats’ goalie Emma Carlson faced a barrage of shots, making 57 saves out of 64.
On the scoring front, Antelopes’ #12 Jennae Szucs was the star of the night, netting three goals. For the Bobcats, #20 Marin Snyder managed to score the lone goal.
Despite the tough loss, the Bobcats will take this as a learning experience and look to bounce back in their next game.
