The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging match against the University of Utah Utes on Sunday, February 20th, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats fell to the Utes with a final score of 5-2.
Both teams demonstrated impressive offensive skills, with the Utes taking 38 shots and the Bobcats making 31 attempts. However, the Utes’ formidable goalie, Miranda De Antunano, held the line, saving 29 out of 31 shots. On the Bobcats’ side, Reese McConnell did his best to keep the Utes at bay, saving 33 out of 38 shots.
The Bobcats had two powerplay opportunities but were unable to capitalize on them. The Utes, on the other hand, did not have any powerplay chances during the game.
Leading the Utes’ offense was #12 Morgan Lavalley, who scored two goals in the game. For the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz managed to find the back of the net once.
The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back from this loss in their next game.
