The Montana State University Bobcats faced a tough loss against the University of Utah Utes last Sunday, February 20th, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The final score was a disappointing 5-2 in favor of the Utes.
Despite their best efforts, the Bobcats were outshot by the Utes, with the latter making 38 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 31. The Utes’ powerplay was 0/0, while the Bobcats’ powerplay was 0/2.
In the face of the Utes’ onslaught, Bobcats goalie Reese McConnell put up a strong defense, making 33 saves out of 38 shots. However, Utes goalie Miranda De Antunano managed to outperform with 29 saves out of 31 shots.
Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley was a standout player in the game, scoring two goals. On the Bobcats’ side, #18 Elly Aldrich managed to score one goal.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats are eager to bounce back in their next game. They will be facing off against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21st, once again at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team is determined to learn from this defeat and come back stronger.
