The Montana State University Bobcats showed their prowess on the ice last night with an impressive 4-1 win over the University of Wyoming Pokes. Despite the Pokes firing a whopping 55 shots on goal, Bobcats goalie Reese McConnell stood tall, making 54 saves and keeping the Pokes to just one goal.
The Bobcats, on the other hand, made the most of their 35 shots on goal, finding the back of the net four times. The Pokes goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, managed to save 31 of those shots but couldn’t keep the Bobcats from scoring. Both teams struggled with powerplays, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4.
The scoring was opened by the Pokes’ #2 Zoey Brown, but the Bobcats quickly responded with a goal from #26 Nicola Roberts. The Bobcats then took control of the game, scoring three more unanswered goals to secure the victory.
The Bobcats will look to continue their winning form in their next game against the University of Utah. The game will take place on Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado. Be sure to come out and support the Bobcats as they look to extend their winning streak.
