In a heated contest at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on February 20th, the Montana State University Bobcats fell short against the University of Utah Utes, with a final score of 2-5.
The Utes dominated the rink with 38 shots, compared to the Bobcats’ 31. Despite the Bobcats’ efforts, the Utes’ defense held strong, with goalie Miranda De Antunano saving 29 of the 31 shots. On the other side, Bobcats’ goalie Reese Mcconnell put up a valiant fight, saving 33 of the 38 shots.
The Bobcats had two powerplay opportunities but were unable to capitalize on either, while the Utes did not have any powerplay chances throughout the game.
The Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, was the star of the game, scoring two goals. For the Bobcats, #18 Elly Aldrich managed to find the back of the net once.
The Bobcats will look to bounce back from this loss in their next home game against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. We hope to see the Bobcats come out stronger and more determined than ever.
