The Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes in a thrilling hockey game on February 20, 2026. The game, held at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado, ended with a final score of Utes 5, Bobcats 2.

The Utes dominated the game, landing 38 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 31. Despite a powerplay advantage for the Bobcats (0/2), they were unable to capitalize on these opportunities, while the Utes didn’t need any powerplay to secure their win.

The star of the game was undoubtedly Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, who scored two goals, helping to secure the Utes’ victory. On the Bobcats’ side, #22 Rylan Lorentz managed to score a goal, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Utes’ strong performance.

In the goaltending department, Utes’ Miranda De Antunano put up an impressive performance with 29 saves out of 31 shots. The Bobcats’ Reese Mcconnell, despite a valiant effort, was only able to save 33 out of 38 shots.

The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back in their next game, a home match against Grand Canyon University. The game is set to take place on Saturday, February 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Stay tuned for more intense hockey action!
