In an exhilarating match at Haynes Pavilion, the Montana State University Bobcats emerged victorious over the University of Wyoming Pokes with a final score of 4-1.
Despite facing a barrage of 55 shots from the Pokes, the Bobcats held their ground with a solid defense. Their goalkeeper, Reese McConnell, put on an impressive performance by saving 54 of those shots. On the other hand, Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, managed to save 31 out of 35 shots.
The Bobcats showed their mettle by maintaining their lead throughout the game, even though they were outshot. The power play was not a deciding factor in this game, with both teams failing to capitalize on their opportunities; Pokes went 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4.
The goal scorers for the night were #2 Zoey Brown for the Pokes and #26 Nicola Roberts for the Bobcats. Roberts’ goal was a significant contribution to the Bobcats’ victory.
Looking ahead, the Bobcats will be hosting the University of Utah at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on Friday, February 20. This win has surely boosted their confidence as they prepare for their next match.
