In last night’s game at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, the Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging opponent in the Grand Canyon University Antelopes. The final score was a crushing 7-1 defeat for the Bobcats, with the Antelopes dominating the ice from the start.
The Antelopes outpaced the Bobcats in shots, with a staggering 64 attempts compared to the Bobcats’ 19. The Bobcats struggled to penetrate the Antelopes’ defense, and their powerplay was ineffective, with no goals in two attempts. The Antelopes, on the other hand, managed to convert one of their three powerplays into a goal.
In the net, the Bobcats’ goalie, Emma Carlson, faced a barrage of shots, managing to save 57 out of 64. In contrast, the Antelopes’ goalie, Annika Olson, had a quieter night, with 18 saves out of 19 shots.
One of the standout players of the evening was the Antelopes’ #12, Jennae Szucs, who scored a hat trick. The Bobcats’ only goal came from #20, Marin Snyder.
Despite the tough loss, the Bobcats will regroup and look to bounce back in their next game. As always, we’ll be there to bring you all the action.
