The Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes in a thrilling game at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on February 20, 2026. The final score was a disappointing 5-2 in favor of the Utes.
The Utes came out strong, firing off 38 shots against the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell. McConnell put up a valiant effort, saving 33 of those shots. The Bobcats, on the other hand, managed 31 shots on the Utes’ goal, with their goalie, Miranda De Antunano, saving 29 of them.
The Bobcats’ powerplay had a couple of opportunities but unfortunately, they were unable to convert any of those into goals. The Utes didn’t have any powerplay opportunities, but they didn’t need them as they managed to score five goals during regular play.
Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, was the star of the evening, scoring two of the five goals for the Utes. Bobcats’ #22, Rylan Lorentz, managed to score one goal, giving the Bobcats’ fans something to cheer about.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats are looking forward to their next game. They’ll be playing at home against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The Bobcats are determined to bounce back and give their fans a game to remember.
