The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging defeat yesterday against the Grand Canyon University Antelopes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The final score was a tough pill to swallow, with the Antelopes dominating the game 7-1.
The Antelopes came out strong, taking a total of 64 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 19. Their powerplay was also more successful, scoring 1 out of 3 attempts, while the Bobcats couldn’t capitalize on their 2 powerplay opportunities.
In the goalie department, the Antelopes’ Annika Olson showed her prowess with 18 saves out of 19 shots. On the other hand, Bobcats’ Emma Carlson had a busy night with 57 saves out of a whopping 64 shots.
The star of the game was undoubtedly the Antelopes’ #12 Jennae Szucs, who netted an impressive hat trick. For the Bobcats, #20 Marin Snyder managed to put one on the board, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats showed determination and resilience. They will be looking to bounce back in their next game and learn from this experience.
