The Montana State University Bobcats put on a spectacular display on the ice as they claimed a 4-1 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes at the Haynes Pavilion on February 7th, 2026. Despite the Pokes launching an impressive 55 shots, the Bobcats’ defense, led by goalie Reese Mcconnell, held strong, saving 54 of them.

The Bobcats, on the other hand, made the most of their 35 shots, scoring four times. This included a stunning goal by #26 Nicola Roberts, adding to her impressive record this season. Despite having fewer opportunities, the Bobcats’ precision and strategy paid off, proving again that it’s not about the number of shots, but the quality.

Both teams went scoreless on powerplays, with the Pokes 0 for 3 and the Bobcats 0 for 4. Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, put on a commendable performance, saving 31 of the 35 shots. However, it was not enough to stop the Bobcats’ onslaught.

The lone goal for the Pokes came from #2 Zoey Brown, who managed to slip one past Mcconnell, preventing a shutout for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats will ride this momentum into their next game, a home match against the University of Utah on February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Be sure to catch the action as the Bobcats look to continue their winning streak.
