The Montana State University Bobcats hockey team put on a stellar performance last night, beating the University of Wyoming Pokes with a final score of 4-1. Despite being outshot by the Pokes 55 to 35, the Bobcats demonstrated exceptional defensive skill, effectively shutting down the Pokes’ offense.
The Pokes, despite their aggressive offense, failed to capitalize on their powerplay opportunities, going 0 for 3. The Bobcats also struggled with their powerplay, going 0 for 4. Nonetheless, the Bobcats’ defense and goaltending proved to be the difference in the game.
Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash had a busy night with 35 shots faced, managing to save 31. On the other end, Bobcats’ Reese Mcconnell was the star of the night, making an impressive 54 saves on 55 shots, allowing only a single goal from Pokes’ #2 Zoey Brown.
For the Bobcats, #26 Nicola Roberts found the back of the net, contributing to the team’s victory.
The Bobcats look to carry this momentum into their next game, a home fixture against the University of Utah. The game will take place on Friday, February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Fans are excited and hopeful for another Bobcats’ victory.
