The Montana State University Bobcats faced a tough defeat last night as they took on the Grand Canyon University Antelopes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The final score was a sobering 7-1 in favor of the Antelopes, with the Bobcats struggling to keep up with the Antelopes’ aggressive offense.
The Antelopes dominated the game from the get-go, firing a total of 64 shots on goal, compared to the Bobcats’ 19. The Bobcats’ goalie, Emma Carlson, had a busy night, making an impressive 57 saves out of 64 shots. On the other end of the ice, Annika Olson of the Antelopes had a relatively quiet evening, facing only 19 shots and saving 18.
The Antelopes’ power play was also more successful, with a conversion rate of 1/3, while the Bobcats were unable to capitalize on their 2 power play opportunities.
The star of the game was undoubtedly the Antelopes’ #12, Jennae Szucs, who netted a hat trick, contributing significantly to her team’s victory. The Bobcats’ single goal of the night was scored by #20, Marin Snyder.
